What is chiropractic?

Our chiropractors undergo a five year, full time degree, qualifying them to carry out a full medical and health history examination, x-rays plus neurological, orthopaedic and chiropractic tests in order to diagnose your complaint.

Chiropractic treatment will be offered if appropriate to your condition and a plan will be tailored to your individual needs. Alternatively if our chiropractors are unable to help they will make the necessary referral to the appropriate practitioner. You do not need a GP referral to see a chiropractor.

Chiropractors use a range of techniques to reduce pain, improve function and increase mobility, including hands-on manipulation of the spine. A Chiropractic adjustment is specific and focused while being safe and a completely natural approach to healing. As well as manual treatment, chiropractors are able to offer a package of care which includes advice on self-help, therapeutic exercises and lifestyle changes.

Chiropractic treatment involves safe, often gentle, specific spinal manipulation to free joints in the spine or other areas of the body that are not moving properly. Apart from manipulation, chiropractors may use a variety of techniques including ice, heat, ultrasound, exercise, acupuncture, and cupping, as well as advice about posture and lifestyle.
